Marie Gay Alessandra Ordenes

Asia Director and Anti-Corruption Lead

Nationality: Filipino

Marie Gay Alessandra V. Ordenes is currently the Asia Director and the Anti-Corruption lead at the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) International Secretariat. She leads the EITI’s work on beneficial ownership and contract transparency, as well as provides strategic direction for implementing the EITI Standard in Asia Pacific, Eurasia and Middle East. Gay is also a member of EITI’s senior management team. Prior to her current position, Gay worked for the Philippine government in various positions in the executive branch and the judiciary as a lawyer. Her areas of interest include public policy, anti-corruption and legal research.

Prior to joining the Secretariat, she was the National Coordinator of Philippine EITI. She is a lawyer by profession with expertise in public policy, anticorruption and extractive sector governance.  

Gay earned her LL.B and B.A. in Political Science from the University of the Philippines. Outside of work, her interests include long road trips, spiritual retreats, chess, gardening and table tennis.
