The Democratic Republic of the Congo's 2022 EITI Validation commenced on 1 January 2022. In accordance with the Validation procedure, DRC EITI collated documentation for Validation using the Board-agreed data collection templates on Stakeholder engagement, Transparency and Outcomes and impact and submitted these to the International Secretariat.

This independent study was commissioned by the DRC EITI MSG. It reviews the 2017 and 2018 financial statements of nine state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the extractive sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It highlights transparency challenges and governance risks, and provides recommendations to strenghten the management of revenues by SOEs.
The DRC EITI published its 2017 Contextual Report and its 2017 Reconciliation Report on 31 December 2019. These reports cover the DRC's mining and oil and gas sectors in 2017. They are in French and are also available on the DRC EITI website. Individual company and government agency data is available in open format on the DRC EITI data portal
The law replaces an earlier code from 2002. It raises royalties on minerals and removes a clause that protected miners from changes to the fiscal and customs regime for 10 years.

This ASM Scoping Study was undertaken relying on a combination of secondary data and field visits.
